The Olive Tree Middle East Forum is an excellent opportunity to learn more about current developments in the Middle East. Since the eruption of revolts against corruption and oppression in one Arab country after another, the politics of the region are a source of increasing fascination and intrigue. At the Forum, two experts debate a topic related to current developments in a way designed more to enlighten and explore rather than to score points or exchange insults.

City students, staff and their friends together with media and other contacts from around London are all invited. For a sample of previous Forum events, including video (and to learn more about the Olive Tree Programme) see:
http://www.city.ac.uk/olive-tree/the-olive-tree-middle-east-forum

In Spring 2012 the Forum will be held from 6-7.30pm on Wednesdays: 8 February; 22 February; and 21 March. Under discussion will be: ‘Think you know how to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? Many seem to — but dialogue changes their thinking — Find out what the Olive Tree Programme really is; Syria: The Prospects and Implications of Intervention; and Media coverage of the Arab revolts.

A more detailed schedule appears at: www.city.ac.uk/olivetree.
